Adam – Fehr-Graham was present to give an update on the Village projects.

The annual street maintenance should begin next week.

FEMA – Meeting is set for Tuesday September 14th for the Benefit Cost Analysis.

The Village does not have a formal agreement yet for the buy-out, but we should know more after the meeting.

Adam noted that changes had to be made to the plans for the Waste Water Treatment project.  More fill dirt was needed so they will extend Mill Pond slightly to make the adjustment. The new plans will be submitted to the EPA within two weeks. Bid opening for the project is set for October 30th.

Mike Dinderman was present to discuss the open well on his property. He noted that he was in communication with Ed Specht and now Clay Simons regarding the capping of the well. The Village would like the well sealed permanently so that we do not have to pay for additional testing with our current wells.  Additional testing is approximately $1266.00 per year.  Mike does not want to seal the well as he believes a well that deep will be beneficial at some point. Estimates to get the well functional will be too costly.  Mike would like to find out if just putting a concrete lid on the well would give the Village Exempt status for further testing.

The Board noted that there has been poor communication on this issue since the beginning. The board is willing to help with the cost of sealing, but for now Mike will look at options to find a way to keep from sealing the well but yet give the Village an Exempt Status on it to eliminate the extra testing cost.

Mike will attend the October meeting for more discussion and to present any options that he has found.

Maintenance Report

Rob reported that we had a lift station pump that quit working due to a blockage in the pump.  May need to educate the public regarding the use of flushable towels, which do not disintegrate totally and then tend to plug the pumps, which cause the failure in the pump. Rob will monitor the pumps for now.

 Streets & Alleys

Street maintenance will begin September 10th. Resurfacing will be done on Walgren Rd and two alleys. Homeowners will be notified before work is started.
