Call to order at 7:00 pm by Cheryl Liebenstein, Village clerk.

Members answering roll call, Tom Smargiassi, Angie Niehaus, Dean Wright, Mike Tichler, Tim Martens, Jamie Melville, and Cheryl Liebenstein.

The minutes from the June meeting were reviewed and accepted without dissent, by Dean. Second by Tom. Motion Carried.

Tim made a motion to pay all bills as presented, Motion second by Angie.  Motion carried.

Tim made a motion to approve the treasurer report as presented. Second by Angie. Motion carried.

No transfer of funds needed.

Maintenance Report

Rob had both tractors repaired this month.

Rob has mowed the prairie area off.  There were too many weeds and thistles to let it continue to grow.  He will spray to kill off the weeds and then check with Stephenson County Soil to look for better options on replanting.

Rob received the bill for the new flags from Freeport Flag.  Tim made a motion to add this bill for $952.00 to the bill list to be paid.  Motion second by Tom.  Motion carried.

Tom asked Rob to please have the Dog Park cleaned and to add a water service there.

Fehr Graham was not present to give updates on the street maintenance.  President Mat will check with them.

WATER/SEWER

Rob has located all the water boxes except for approximately 12. He will continue to probe for the remaining ones and them to Water Run program when he adds hydrants.  Water Run admin site will be available July 1, 2024 and the app will be available mid-July.  Steve will meet with Rob to get him set-up in the live application.

STREETS/ALLEYS/LIGHTS/SIDEWALK

Helm Civil will keep the street grindings for Rob and he will put them on the Walking paths at Mill Pond.

BUILDINGS/GROUNDS

CEMETERY

Angie is working on replacing the last memorial tree.

POLICE

The village will be receiving a check from Crime Stop for $15,000.00 on July 29th.  This donation has been earmarked for the new squad car.

New Business

The finance committee needs to look at board member wages for any increase.  Discussion and/or approval will need to be done no later than the September meeting for wage increases to be in effect on May 1, 2025.

We have five trustee positions and the mayor position open for the consolidated election in April 2025. Petition packets will be available by mid-August.

Cheryl will be unavailable from July 22nd thru July 27th.
