POLICE

Fred informed the board that they had 75 hours worked in July. Several tickets were written for speeding. The new squad is ready to use. We will need to get an emblem for Crime Stop to put on the squad.

Richard from Crime Stop was present to discuss the purpose of the organization.  It was started in New Mexico in 1976 and was a success that spread throughout the states. The club is made up of civilians and active police officers.  No officer can be on the voting board. All tips are anonymous and if you call in you are given a number and asked to call back after several months to see if you are eligible for a reward.  All calls come in as anonymous and those answering the tip line do not know who is calling.

Richard presented to the Village a check for $15,000.00 to help offset cost of our new squad car. The board was very much appreciative for the donation.  We will add their emblem to the squad.

The board will look to put the Durango out for sealed bid. Board decided it would be best to wait until we have a full board at the next meeting.
