Jeff Johnson was present representing the Greenspace Committee and the Lions Club to answer any questions regarding the Greenspace projects they presented to the board.

President Knoup stated that the village needed to close on three houses, bid to demo the property and get the empty lots seeded. He stressed that we had to complete this project first before we moved to implement any of the Greenspace Committee’s proposals. President Knoup wants to be sure that we get all the reimbursements from FEMA.

The board members requested that both parties meet and prioritize the projects to implement and start the roll out of the plans, find additional funding and get a time line started.

Rob noted that he has put together a packet of information for the Prairie and walking path that would be on the east side of the former Woker property.  This prairie area would connect to Mill Pond and will be the easiest project to implement this spring.

Will noted that he has made contacts regarding the other projects that the Green Space committee recommended.

BMX Track: Will is looking for ideas from other places and will speak with some local people to see what they would like. Pearl City is a good place for a track but the property will not be large enough for a sanctioned track. He was told that the track will need to be monitored.  Will plans to meet with the Green space committee to report his findings.

Splash Pad: Will was informed by the salesman that there are concerns with building a pad in a flood zone.  Salesman was concerned that a flood would do major damage to the pumps.  Will noted that he will continue to look at this project.

The ball diamond has not been addressed at this time. Will wants to meet with the committee to look at grant funds and establish a time line.  Amy Krolow will contact Will to set up a meeting time with the other members of the committee.

Will also met with the Park District and they will consider inter-governmental agreements with the board regarding the upkeep and maintenance of some of these projects.

Both parties have agreed to keep the plans moving and will now be working together to establish time lines and project priorities.
