Call to order at 7:00 pm by President Mat

Members answering roll call, President Mat Diehl, Angie Niehaus, Dean Wright, Mike Tichler, Kirk Knoup, Tim Martens, Jamie Melville, and Cheryl Liebenstein.

The minutes from the January meeting were reviewed and accepted without dissent, by Dean. Second by Angie. Motion Carried.

The committee made a motion to pay all bills as presented, with the approval to pay the Hometown Motors bill when we get the printed bill. Motion second by Tom.  Motion carried.

Angie made a motion to approve the treasurer report as presented. Second by Tom. Motion carried.

No transfer of funds needed.

FINANCE/TIF FINANCE

Jamie reported that the Lucas Group is working on our audit and it is 70% done. They have requested that Jamie change her bank reconciliation to the last day of the month.

WATER/SEWER

We had a water main break on E. South St., which has been repaired. Mike did not have any further bids for the tree removal on W South St. Mike will check with another person for a bid price and the committee will make a final decision on removal.

STREETS/ALLEYS/LIGHTS/SIDEWALK

BUILDINGS/GROUNDS

The broom on the tractor has been sent to Sloan’s for repair.  The white maintenance truck needs some repairs. Hometown Motors has looked at it but we have not received an estimate for cost.

CEMETERY

POLICE

Fred introduced Kurt Schnoor to the board members. Kurt is now working hours for the village. Hometown motors did repairs on the Durango for $1,085.00. Fred noted that it will need new shocks soon. The Police laptop needs to be updated for windows to run the newer programs.

Fred has borrowed the flashing pedestrian signs from Lena for use on Main St until the Lion’s Club Queen of Hearts drawing is over. He also noted that Stephenson County officers and the Reserves will be in town on Thursday evening for more security for the drawing. We will request that the Lion’s Club give the Reserves a donation for their time. Rob will be putting up barricades on the alley behind Little John’s and he will also block off a couple spots in front for emergency vehicle use only.

Tom noted that Scott Johnson has a vehicle on his lot if the Police are interested in it. Scott informed Tom that he will look for a squad car for us. The committee will work with Scott and see if he can find an Explorer or a SUV.

LIQUOR

New applications will be sent out this month.

Old Business

The Junior class has requested a donation from the village for their post prom activities. Dean made a motion to give the Post Prom $100.00 donation.  Motion second by Kirk.  Motion carried.

Board members discussed the Water Run presentation that was given last month. The benefits included location and mapping of shut off valves, man holes, etc., Daily, and weekly task list and future water and sewer plans.  They also discussed the benefit of being able to request additions to the program.

Board members would like to see if we could get a guarantee rate for x number of years. They questioned if we would get charged additional fees if we have technical issues with the program.  Jamie will check with the TIF attorneys to see if we can use TIF monies for the startup cost.

New Business

Tina Endress has given the Village $749.51 donation from the Friends of Mill Pond.  The group has disbanded, and she is requesting that the money be used for Mill Pond.

Tim is working on extending the walking paths at Mill Pond.  He would also like to extend the sidewalk from Main St to the dog Park. Rob will work with Tim and help get estimates for the work.

Rob has requested that we allow the summer help to start early this year due to the warm weather.  He will check to see if Lucas and Myles want to return this summer and if they would like to work weekends until school is out for the summer.
